{Friday Night @ the studio}

We had a great Friday night at the Studio.  Our good friends (and clients) the Mohr Family came over for a consultation session.  They have two wonderful children the same age as our two oldest.  We started the night out at La Nopalera for tacos and chips, and then came back to the studio.  The boys keep themselves busy playing Mario Cart on the Wii and the girls played dress up with all the props and outfits.  This gave the adults time to open a bottle of wine and work on filling a wall in their house with pictures taken recently at a beach session.  They had taken pictures of the wall and we are able to plug them into a program to come up with the perfect arrangement for them.  It was a nice night to combine time with friends and a little work.

Here is a glimpse of our life at the studio…yeah this is the real deal (sometimes everyone is here when I am working and I wouldn’t have it any other way 🙂

Kids photo ideas have a sister session!

So how about a sister session?  Here are some very adorable sisters and some simple kids photo ideas.

Most of you think of me as “have camera will travel” kind of girl.  I have totally enjoyed my new place.  The energy of a child I wish I had…these two had a ton of energy that day.  We played dress up and just in general had fun!  Sometimes all you need is a cool chair, some favorite toys, a couple of tutus and the most important part sisters with a lot of personality.

Urban Session G’s growing up

Urban Session…G. is growing so fast!

So what is an urban session?  It is a city inspired session.  For an urban shoot the details usually include rough walls, cool doors, and city streets.  It is “urban” inspired!  We went around the streets and alleyways in San Marco looking for just the right spots.

When you’re doing a kids urban session, the most important aspect is picking the right accessories and outfits.  Here her outfit is a little vintage inspired.  The vest is lace giving a nod to her girly attitude.  The button up shirt is in a neutral tone with just the right amount of detail to complement the vest.  Finishing it off with a skirt over her leggings…the heart chain just adds the right touch of bling and edge.  Overall, I think it works.  For this age, just a slight edge fits the mark.  And the outfit totally fits her personality so does the nail polish in two different colors!
